In the night of Sunday, April 12, President Donald Trump’s Truth Social post of an AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus Christ has attracted backlash, even from some of his strong supporters.
The image was an altered version of the one shared months ago by right-wing influencer, Nicki Adams. Trump was shown in a white robe and red sash with a ball of light in one hand while the second was extended in healing.
President Trump shared an image portraying him as Jesus and after heavy criticism, deleted the post he had shared on the day Orthodox Christians were celebrating Easter.

Christians react to Trump’s AI-generated image of himself as Jesus
Many people beyond Americans have decry Trump’s action which made him delete the infuriating post of the president portraying himself as Jesus.
Christians are more annoyed because of the significance of the day he chose to post such image.
Archbishop Paul S Coakley, president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a statement in response to Trump’s post:
“I am disheartened that the president chose to write such disparaging words about the Holy Father. Pope Leo is not his rival; nor is the Pope a politician. He is a Vicar of Christ who speaks from the truth of the Gospel and for the care of souls.”
Christian influencer Ryan Miller with over two million followers across social media reacted to President Trump’s now deleted post of an Al-generated photo that depicted him as a Jesus-like figure. Miller called the depiction blasphemy.
“Can I just speak for 95% of Christians out there and say we are really tired of this. This is blasphemy! You’ve got angels that are soldiers or something, you’ve got Donald Trump clearly portraying himself as God? This is exactly what the bible calls blasphemy.”

On Orthodox Easter, President Trump attacked the Pope because the Pope is rightly against Trump’s war in Iran and then he posted this picture of himself as if he is replacing Jesus.

The President’s social media presence and pontifications on social media undermine him, his administration, his agenda, and the GOP’s midterm chances.

If the President didn’t know that was depicting him as Jesus, I’d think that is bad too. I mean he’s either lying or really clueless.
Constantly excusing him when he does this stuff just creates a feedback loop for him to never learn and keep doing it. https://t.co/C2HIveIlEI

I do believe that he didn’t think of this as a depiction of Jesus when posting. Still, there has to be more care and discernment here. pic.twitter.com/bWe0Y7x46b

Trump claims to be doctor in AI-generated Jesus image of himself
Following the outcry over his AI photo, on Monday, April 13, Trump claimed he thought the photo he shared of him as Jesus Christ was of him as a doctor.
Though deleted after outcry by Christians, the US president affirmed that it was him who posted the image and said:
“It was me as a doctor. It had to do with Red Cross. There’s a Red Cross worker there, which we support. And only the fake news can come up with that one. It’s supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better.”
Meanwhile, Vice President Vance has since defended Trump while downplaying the post-and-delete as a “joke” and that “a lot of people weren’t understanding his humour.”
Vance tried to relax the severity of Trump’s antics and corresponding comments from critics.
Trump blasts Pope Leo XIV on position over Iran war
Earlier, Trendin reported the feud between President Trump and Pope Leo XIV over the US-Israeli war against Iran, suing for peaceful resolution.
Trump had fired back calling the pontiff weak on crime and terrible on foreign policy.
